Why can't I find an OEM front bumper?

I have a 2002 silver-grey Miata in which I cracked the front bumper cover in
a very low speed accident. I want to replace the bumper cover but cannot
find a replacement unit that is Original equiment. My research has been on
the internet (Google) and on ebay. Does the Miata factory not make body
parts available to civilians through intermediate wholesalers or other
suppliers? Can anyone give me some advice on what is going on and/or make a
suggestion? Thanks

www.planetmiata.com has new oem bumper covers for your year (2001+) listed
on their site for $319. i suspect they come only primed and would need to
be painted. call them to see if they happen to have a used one already
painted in your color.
