Products made cheap in Mexico are sold here for the same price range it was sold at before being made cheaply in Mexico. Just look at the Ford Fiesta American edition. Made in Mexico and more expensive than a Honda Civic which gives more value for the dollar than the less powerful, smaller, Fiesta. > Now, if > I wanted to put in a plant here, and pay the millions extra that > governmental > regulations would cost, and if I wanted to tolerate American labor costs, > unions, and laws, I couldnt compete with old line established companies. > > I could, however, make the same products. You're misinformed. The only reason why American companies produce in Mexico is so that the owners can put more profit in their pockets rather than putting it in the pockets of American workers and in the tax pot of American Taxpayers. It is all about greed, the exact same greed that is killing the American economy. Americans are paid well so they can spend well, and spending well is what keeps us all living in comfort. Soon we will all be poor like the Mexicans who work for crap. Econo-cars |

If I could make those things here and be competitive, I would certainly do it. I pay US taxes on my earnings. Soon you may all be worse off, that is true.. The reason is that the US government has sold your future to the devil, we cannot pay our indebtness any longer, we are out of money, and the US dollar is starting its fall from first reserve currency in the world to "undesirable". |

Really, I am a conservative middle of the roader.. You must be a leftist. I dont blame the "working class".. I blame the government which has been incompetent and irresponsible for decades, and at whose feet we can lay a lot of the ills of our society. |

You are the one whining about indebtedness and the decline of the US currency. The number one reason for that is that for the last 30 years US imports have far exceeded US exports. That isn't the government's fault. That is your fault. |

"Tegger" > wrote in message > > Are prices of goods the same in Mexico as they are in the US? > > > -- > Tegger Essentially, yes. For some years one of the prime materials was a bit cheaper because it was being manufactured within Mexico and there was a subsidy to incentivate market growth.. That no longer exists. |
