Alfa 147 2.0TS 24K Service Cost
Hi
I've been quoted £235 inclusive of all consumables, parts and VAT for the above service. Can someone let me know if that is a fair price? Thanks, Steve |

I paid £248 for the same service on my 1.6 147 in May last year. HTH Regards Ross |

My local Alfa specialist does this for =A399.20 all in. Pollen filter is
extra but a bit overpriced, but still under =A3160. To be honest, I'd buy the pollen filer from a local parts store/motor factor and replace myself, but then I do all the oil/filter changes anyway, and 24K is only really oil change and new oil and air filters, plus top-up of other lubricants and check over. A bit pricey but then again they did replace some of the rear suspension under warranty. Apparently some 147's suffer trouble with their suspension. An independent will always be cheaper but I bet they won't do optional warranty work. Tom |

Warranty work is only from a dealer ... but that doesn't mean you have to
get it serviced by them after the warranty has run out. Or even it between (read the small print). Plus check that your dealer doesn't offer a "price-match" scheme ... a number are and you can get your running costs down by haggling!!! Alfa know that they used some dodgy material in the bushes on the suspension of both 147 and 156 cars. The production runs became greater than expected and they had to source from a second manufacturer. Owners of these cars are discovering suspension problems from as little as 6000 miles. A nuisance, but warranty replacements are quickly offered without hassle. Pete -- > 156 2.0 TS (2001) - Proteo Rosso |

As Tom Said, there's a bit more to the service than that, judging by the tick sheet of the work done on mine, plus you get the benefit of a nice set of dealer stamps in the hand-book which helps...a bit...when you come to sell the car! But, you pays your money and make your choices...! :-) Regards Ross |
