Default TJ Sliding windows

I have the glass sliders in my TJ. They leak! My question is does
anyone know if the frames that are used in the sliders the same as the
frames used for the soft windows? I have brand new door skins for soft
windows, but I don't have any old soft window frames to put them on. Since
the sliders leak anyway, I was thinking of destroying them the rest of the
way to get to the frames if they will work.

As always, thanks for the help.
Dennis

Why don't you give Bestop a call and ask them, they'll know the answer for
sure. Their number is 1-800-845-3567

Good luck.

tks
I thought I would go to the experts first before I tried vendors. I figured
someone here has probably tried this before. The person on the phone at
Bestop won't find this question in their book so they probably won't know
the "real" answer. Besided, this is not something that a normal person
would do to a normal window. But like I said, mine leaks and part of the
plastic is broken on it, so tearing it down to put new skins on it is not
such a bad idea IMO.

Dennis - get in touch with Bestop before you hack the doors up. I had
a problem with the plastic frames separating on mine. I used the
"contact us" address on their website to send an email describing the
problem and I attached a couple pics to show the separation. I was
hoping to get an address to ship the sliders to for repair - instead I
heard back from them within 24 hours informing me that they would send
me a new set of sliders as well as a call tag to ship the old ones
back. I had the new set within a week.
As far as I'm concerned, Bestop customer service is top notch - give
them a chance before you give up on your sliders.
Hope this helps,
-Ed
