156 gear knob removal
I have just purchased a Momo gear knob, but I am having dificutly removing
the factory fitted one on my car. Can anyone give me some help on how to remove it safely??? |

Depends on the engine!
The versions that have the reverse engaged by lifting a ring under the knob: I don't know. The other ones (I believe the 3 4-cylinder petrol engines) are quite simple. Just take a big adjustable wrech, grip the gear knob firmly and give it a big turn. The knob will break; this is the only way, as the shaft has a ridge on it and the knob seems to have been mounted "hot", so the hard plastic more or less has melted around the shaft.
