I wonder what the difference is between the 2 parts, because whith the
number on the part of my vehicle, i find Air by pass valve in rockauto.com
catalog. Is there a difference, or I have not found the IAC valve yet ...
my explorer is a 98 one.
please help, because price is not the same at all.....

I think those are the same parts. Sometimes it's called a bypass
valve because it lets air bypass the throttle plate, and sometimes
it's called an Idle air control valve because it controls idle speed
(by allowing just the right amount of air to bypass the throttle
plate).

Here is a website describing a fix for the IAC valve that has lots of
pictures of this part that might help.

Thank you so much.
The part I was talking about is the same as IAC but is called ABP valve on
part catalog and the 2 holes are not the same form as IAc on the pictures
you send me.
but as the part seems like each other, i will buy the ABP valve because
number /reference are the same. Now i know there are not 2 differents parts
on my car :-)))
thank you for your help.
Claude
