Two options.

BIG hammer and beat the tunnel open for clearance.

Mark and measure the tunnel and trans. Cut a section out of the tunnel
and weld in a new piece shaped to clear.

Both have been used. There are even pre-bent sections sold if you wanted
to do the second method.
