pilot feels like it stalls
Hello,
A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a 2003 Pilot for my wife. She says that sometimes, while under way, the thing feels like it wants to stall. Does anyone have any idea what that could be? Thanks |

Does anyone have any idea what that could be? Thanks Could be anything from bad gas to dirty spark plugs... I had a hesitation problem when accelerating a few months back and changing the spark plugs did the trick. If you do this yourself, make sure you coat the threads with an anti-sieze compound to prevent "fusing" with the aluminum head. |

This Pilot looks brand new. It has super clean oil. I is certified. The
gas has been filled a few times now. 93 octane. One more thing...it's not happening on acceleration...it happens just
motoring along. Clean your throttle body. It's always a good idea. The can of cleaner is
only 3-5$. If it solved the problem, great, if it doesn't, at least you will have a clean throttle body "Howard Mora" > wrote in message . .. > Hello, > > A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a 2003 Pilot for my wife. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, the 2003 Pilot uses regular gas, 87 octane. Using 93 octane wastes your money, and could cause some issues with buildup in the cylinders. -- Mike Iglesias Email: University of California, Irvine phone: 949-824-6926 Network & Academic Computing Services FAX: 949-824-2069 |

Even though it is certified, you don't know the service history -- which is important if the maintenance has been done as required. I would take it back to the dealer where you bought it with the problem. It may be something as simple as a throttle body cleaning or injector service. |

The air cleaner could be dirty.

Does anyone have any idea what that could be? Thanks I wonder if this is the Grade Logic Control being activated. Ask your wife if this "stalling" behavior comes on while she's coasting or just lightly stepped on the gas AND going downhill. When I first experienced the GLC kicing in, I thought the thing was gonna stall on me too. But I could be wrong, in which case, I suggest you follow the others' suggestions. |
