Door hinge pins on Super Beetle
Do they come out the top or the bottom? I'm going to make a press to
get them out but didn't want to shove them out the wrong way. I lube the hell out of one hinge and it keeps getting so tight I'm afraid I'll start cracking the body around the hinge. |

Pins are driven up -- I had to take mine off recently and used John Henry's idea: http://www.thebugshop.org/gotech.htm search for the words "hinge pin". I did not have to heat up my hinge to get it out. Not sure if a super has a different arrangement, but it appears that the factory tool is the same for both according to my manual -- most likely the hinges are the same as well, but maybe someone here knows for sure.
