Default leather seats?

leather seats or no leather seats. That is the question.

I live in Arizona, where most of the year, it is very hot. Was wondering
if it is worth it to get the leather seats, with the Navigator system?
You can only get it with leather seats. Getting in the car with shorts
on can be torturous.

But on the other hand, they say it is easier to keep clean.

I currently have an 02 Camry, and want to get an 06 Accord. The
navigation system is neat, but is it really worth the extra money.
Unless your using it on a consistent baseis

Anyway, any thoughts on the leather seats?

Thanks, Susan

Susan:

Definitely read the thread that I started on 1/30 about this topic.
Some good info there!

Get the leather and the Nav system Susan. Both are wonderful. We
live in Arizona too, and my wife would tell you the same thing. She
never has a problem with shorts. Leather and hot climates seem to
gather a lot of urban myths. Cows don't have a problem, and neither
will you.

We don't use the nav system in a city unless we are looking for a
store in an unfamiliar area. We do use it all the time when on a trip
out of town. Even if you know where you are going, it's nice to know
how far it is to the next potty, gas station, etc. And if you ever
break down, you can tell the 911 operator or sheriff exactly where you
are within a few feet. I can't imagine owning another car without it.

Susan:

Another LX V6/EX V6 difference I was wondering about was this.
There's a moonroof visor option if and only if you go with the EX-V6.
I've sort of been wondering if one couldn't just order the moonroof
visor and install it on the LX.

Local dealer has said that Honda won't allow them to install the visor
on an LX.

I don't know if it would fit or not. I would think the dimensions are
same but I'm not sure.

I wish Honda offered the nav system on the LX-V6 as well. I guess
they want to try and encourage the upgrade to the EX model though.

i personally dont care for em.

that said, if you get em and dont like em, you can always get seat
covers for em. sheepskin or what have you. take em off at least once a
year and clean/polish the leather. leather seats will add value if you
ever sell.

so you can get seatcovers if you dont like the leather, but ya cant get
leather seatcovers if you dont like cloth. so get the leather.

Cows dont shave their skin and enclose themselves with glass and steel and
stand on concrete all day. I have had leather (black) in texas and it gets
hot as hell. Would be funny to see a cow do that though....

Seat covers are not a good idea if you have the side air bags like my
new 06 Civic does.
