Default Radio Codes

I just bought a 1996 SC1 with a am\fm cassette and equilizer. I just
got the car out of the garage and the radio was showing "LOC" in the
lcd display. I have no idea how to unlock it. The dealer tells me that
for $50 they would do it. Hope someone can tell me what the default
codes are and what buttons to push and in what sequence and I will try
that first. Thanks

There are some very strange suggestions in past articles:

One suggestion was to try the last 4 of the VIN? Other suggestions
indicate that it shouldn't take the dealership more than a couple of
minutes and (despite what the dealer told you) that there is no need for
them to charge you.

Rather than give them $50 to unlock it, I'd spend a bit more and get
an aftermarket deck installed.
