Default removing ignition lock cylinder

I posted a message a few days ago about the key for my 2001 neon not
going all the way in. I have come to find out that I need to remove
the lock cylinder. However the easiest way to do this is when you can
actually get the key in to turn it part way and then push in the tab
on the bottom of the lock. I cannot do this though. So far I have
removed everything so that i can get at it except for the cable that
locks the shifter and some electrical. The problem is that I do not
have a small enough "security torx bit". It appears ar though I
should be at least able to move the whole works without taking those
off but i cant. Is the a puller that i need or am i doing something
else wrong?

Please help!!

Nobody's going to touch this with a 10 foot pole.
