diesel timing pump question
my audi 100 2.5 tdi just broke its timing belt . now it smokes even worce
than before and startes shaking and when u switch off it keeps going for a while the garage taht replaced the belt a few days ago thinks its the diesel pump timing as they had no special tools for setting it up . can anyone help ? |

Ask them why they even attempted to replace the belt without the special equipment for timing diesel pump? Checking and adjusting the timing on those 5-cylinder engines is very difficult to get exactly right, and using specialised equipment is absolutely essential to do the job properly. Or so I've heard. So if the engine runs... the belttiming is right. And the smoke...
