> What is the typical cost for having a dealership change out the timing belt? $400 to $1200 depending on the dealership and how they do their billing. The timing belt job varies 1. Timing belt only. Could be done for $300. 2. new accessory belts and new valve cover gasket. $70-100 for the parts. 3. new water pump. $100-125 for parts. 4. new crankshaft and camshaft seals. $30-40 for parts. 5. new idler and tensioner puller. $130-150 for parts, 6. new thermostat $15-20 for the part. Some dealers will double charge you on the labor for the extra ites, which has resulted in bills as high as $1200 being posted for comment on the net for all of the above. So get an estimate first. |
