Default RAP Module HELP??? - Power Door Lock Controller...

Hello,
I have a 1997 Explorer XLT (V8 - AWD).

I recently starting have a problem with my remote transmitter and door
locks.
It would seem that the remote stopped working at times.
I, of course, replaced the batteries, and this did not help.

I read on the boards that you can reprogram the transmitters/RAP module
by turning the ignition ON and OFF 5 times, then the door locks will
unlock, and then pressing the remote buttons, and then turn ignition
off.
This did not work either.

NOTE: A few of the attempts to do this caused the door locks to quickly
lock and then unlock.

I then read that disconnecting power the RAP to reset it may fix this
problem.
Well I did that too, and now whenever I attempt to reconnect power to
it by plugging in one of the cables back into the module the alarm just
goes off with no way to shut it off.
So I am currently using the vehicle with the RAP disconnected.

Does anyone have any info that might be of some help??

Does it sound like the RAP module is bad??

Any info would be much appreciated!!

FRANK!

Have you tried to re-connect the rap and then lock and unlock the drivers
door with the key ????
