Default H1 fuel requirements (dumb question warning)

I have been told that the original (maybe military version) H1 could
burn *any* kind of fuel available, including gasoline. Since all the
original Hummers were diesel, I don't see why they couldn't burn
diesel, kerosene, jet fuel, heating oil, etc., but I can't see the same
engine burning gasoline (even in any emergency) unless there was some
sort of direct gas injection at some point well past top dead center
(if that's possible at all). So the question is; can the original
Hummer burn a range of fuel from diesel to gasoline in the same engine?

This required a multi fuel engine. To avoid tendency to knock and advanced
ignition they work in sequence first with a mixture formation and then with
a diesel like fuel injection.
This demands of some special parameters. A high compression rate of 25:1,
lubrication of fuel injection pump with an annular lubrication channel
supplied from the engine lubrication circuit. In some cases an externally
supplied ignition with spark plugs, etc.

*NOT* true. Diesel only.

In an emergency kero or jet fuel. Neither had the lubrication
qualities needed to allow the injection pump to survive for long

Running a 6.5 (or a 6.2) on gasoline will (quickly) destroy the
engine.

It will burn diesel fuel (and/or B20). OK, heating oil (home) is
non-tax paid diesel os that would work, but not legally. Anything else
is not recommended. (And that's from a guy with two H1s)
