Alfa 147 1.6 TS leaking power steering fluid
Hi folks
I posted a topic a few weeks back because my 147 petrol was making a "diesel" sounding noise when it starts up as well as a whirring noise when I turn the wheel. Thanks for the replies for this. This noise went away when I topped up the power steering fluid but when I checked the level tonight (2 weeks later) it was almost empty! Any ideas where I should check for leaks for this? |

Not really, but maybe lay some clean paper under the engine compartment and leave it overnight, followed by application of a plumb-line the following morning? -- Stephen Poley |

AA man couldn't find the leak... he jacked the car up, turned the wheel from end to end, hoping to pressurise the system and make a leak obvious... eventually gave up, reckoned it must be hidden under a cover or something, Garage found it ok, said it was a split hose. They had to replace two though, because the two were moulded as one item. dom. |

I reckon there was a split in the space / time continuum. -- Catman MIB#14 SKoGA#6 TEAR#4 BOTAFOF#38 Apostle#21 COSOC#3 OMF#22 Tyger, Tyger Burning Bright (Remove rust to reply) Alfa 116 Giulietta 3.0l (Really) Sprint 1.7 156 TS S2 Triumph Speed Triple: Black with extra black bits www.cuore-sportivo.co.uk |
