It gets taken away when irresponsible people act, errr, irresponsibly.

Sorta like: your freedom to swing your arms ends at my nose.

(Pardon the oblique pun.)

Cigarettes are biodegradable so what's the big deal about throwing them out of a
car or throwing them on the ground? Much better than those non-biodegradable
plastic forks, spoons, cups etc that people throw out of their car anyplace and
anytime they feel like it.

BTW, no, I don't smoke. Used to, but quit several years ago.

An exception to the norm.
(although I find it very difficult to believe that you [or anyone else
making the claim] have NEVER tossed away[improperly discarded]a SINGLE butt
in your entire smoking history.)

They are NOT that "biodegradable".They last for several months.
They also get into water drainage and cause problems for water treatment
plants.

More than that, they're babbling about "freedom" and "oppression" and
throwing up all kinds of red herrings (car exhaust, etc.).

I used to throw butts out right and left when I smoked. Thought nothing of
it. I'm disgusted by it now.
