1973 Vette, 3k original miles!!

I have a 1973 Stingray, 454, T-top, 3K original miles!
My uncle has asked me to sell it for him. He's about to
go into a senior home and has no room for the vette.
He is the original owner.

I have no idea how much a car like this is worth.
Can some one please give me some feed back.

Condition, originality and rarity come first - then mileage. If the car
was trashed as a racer then the low miles isn't extraordinary. If it's
still ninetyninepointsomething % original then the mileage adds quite a
bit. If the car was a factory custom order for a special client then the
mileage would add to the appeal and rarity. In all cases the value of
the low mileage is dependent on other variables first.

Sorry, I forgot to continue with my advice...

Given the possibilty that the car may be unusual in some aspect because
of the low miles then I think consulting a knowledgeable appraiser is in
order. You may be sitting on something of considerable value that isn't
reflected in the general pricing guidelines but it's all going to hinge
on originality, rarity and condition.

Thanks Owen,

Unusual... about two thousand of the miles have been ran while
the car has sat on blocks. He starts the car and goes though
the gears.
He special ordered the car with black leather interior.
He never touched the car with a wrench... it's all original!
Do you or anyone else know of an appraiser? The car is near
San Jose, CA.

Luis, in addition to the appraisal, go online and research similar cars (ala
Google or other search
engines) so that you can have a good idea of what to anticipate. An
original 73 with less than 5k miles is
rare to find, and you'll probably find similar 73s that have been restored -
those are not the ones I'm
referring to.

know?..Rick works out of Sacto, comes to the Bay Area once in a while.

He'll charge you something, don't know how much, and should be able to
direct you to the best sales sites around Northern Cal

Actually I think this is the thing that trolls are made of.
Doubt this story very strongly. Black interior was available in
every color that year, so why special order it? Nobody
I know runs a Corvette through the gears with it up on
blocks. Can you just hear those universals. If you really
want some honest feed back you would give a more detailed
description of the car for one thing, another is most people
trying to get info would at the very least tell what transmission it has.

I would have to agree, Dad. Imagine how much time would be spent putting
2000 miles on a car sitting on blocks. At 60 MPH that's 33 hours. I've
never heard of such a thing.

You're right...I forgot that you can't run the car with the rear wheels
hanging down. Unless of course, they put blocks under the strut/shock
mount as well.
