MCA & other clubs?

Hi all-
Back in the day, when I had spare time, I helped create a chapter of the
MCA (Chesapeake). Since I left it seems to have all but vanished (as has
the MCA??)... I know there was some friction between clubs, owners, and
the MCA and other groups were started. Then I saw something Mazda was
trying and the magazine that (Bonnie?) started up. Can anyone fill me in
on what the heck happened with the clubs? Is there a national miata club
anymore? Is there still a Miata magazine? I know some local clubs still
exist, but I know the list on Miata.net has a lot of dead links... TIA.
