96 XLT mud guard question
Hello everyone.
I have a 96 XLT, and would like to put some mud guards on the front and rear. After a little research I settled on the Husky Liner sets, and was careful to order the correct items. I've not yet installed them, but the rear ones appear to conform fine, yet the front set is totally incorrect. The ones I ordered said they were for the XLT "without fender flares or running boards". My Explorer has neither, yet it has a trim piece that runs along the bottom under the doors from the front to rear wheels. Is this considered a fender flare? I sure wouldn't think so. Most of the Explorers that look like mine (in the same age range) appear to have this same trim. I'm positive its factory, and not added on. I'd really like to have front and rear guards, so if anyone can recommend a front set that will fit properly I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, and best wishes.
