Strange indicator (turn signal) problem on E34
Car is a 1995 E34 BMW 5-series (M5).
I noticed yesterday that if I use the LEFT indicator (turn signal), then both sets of indicators flash (i.e., it looks as if the hazard warning switch has been used). - the RIGHT indicator works fine - The HAZARD lights work fine - The ALARM (BMW factory fits) works fine - it flashes the indicators on arm/disarm - All 6 indicator bulbs are working - The telltale bulbs in the dash are working I have tried removing and reseating the LKM module and the Flasher relay, but neither of these made any difference. Other than planning all my routes to avoid ever turning left :-) can anybody suggest where I should look next? -- Philip K Hertfordshire, England 1995 BMW ///M5 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Coupe |

Philip, not having owned an E34, not sure if this might help... but the same
thing happened to me in an E30 325i se, traced it to the control stalk in the end... hard to track the correct one down tho because of the computer function on the stalk... hope it maybe helps? best of luck, louis s, hampshire "Philip K" > wrote in message ... > Car is a 1995 E34 BMW 5-series (M5). > > I noticed yesterday that if I use the LEFT indicator (turn signal), then > both sets of indicators flash (i.e., it looks as if the hazard warning > switch has been used). > > - the RIGHT indicator works fine > - The HAZARD lights work fine > - The ALARM (BMW factory fits) works fine - it flashes the indicators on > arm/disarm > - All 6 indicator bulbs are working > - The telltale bulbs in the dash are working > > I have tried removing and reseating the LKM module and the Flasher > relay, but neither of these made any difference. > > Other than planning all my routes to avoid ever turning left :-) can > anybody suggest where I should look next? > -- > Philip K > Hertfordshire, England > 1995 BMW ///M5 > 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport Coupe |
