MOMO Racing - Force not working
I just bought a new MOMO Racing (the black one) but haven't been able to get
FF to work. The controller is recognized by the installation software and responds to steering and the buttons, just no auto-calibration or force. I tried it on two computers with the same result. Am I missing something or do I have a bad wheel? I am running Windows XP SP1. Brian J |

Simple things first, is it plugged in? Do you have green lights on the
wheel? -- Andi. Remove only one zero to reply "B Johnson" > wrote in message ... > I just bought a new MOMO Racing (the black one) but haven't been able to get > FF to work. Good point I assume you have the latest Logitech profiler software?

Thanks for the replies.
Yes it is plugged in and I installed the profiler softwarethat came with it. The wheel actually works in windows and games but has no force effects in either. I thought at one point I might have a USB problem, but since the wheel is recognized and works, I don't think that's it. Any ideas? which games are you trying to run. some games require you to enable ff
within the game. plus the profile software has more settings to fiddle with to change the strength of the ff. hope that helps cheers steve "B Johnson" > wrote in message ... > Thanks for the replies. > > Yes it is plugged in and I installed the profiler softwarethat came with > it. > The wheel actually works in windows and games but has no force effects in > either. Try unplugging both the power and the USB. Then, reattach power then USB. You can also have problems if the driver install didn't go exactly as they planned... namely having the wheel attached before running the setup. Alan |

Thanks Alan,
I recall that I had it all connected before running setup. That may have been the issue. I tried uninstalling the driver and removing from Device Manager plus every combination of the order of plugging in and installing the driver with no success. I also tried installing it on my laptop and had the same problem, steering/gas/brake/buttons work in game controllers but no force and no auto-calibration. Was there anything that you did that I may not have tried yet? Might fix this by reinstalling direct x? got this from here...
http://www.wingmanteam.com/files/doc...ection/USB.htm DX here... http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx sounds like a crap shoot if you dont do it {install proceedures} right the 1st time? BTW, I have had same damn results with some printers from HP and a couple of 'earlier in USB history' devices... I can NOT recall how I finally recoverd from this problem, ah it is hell getting old.
