Default Urgent...... V6 vs TSpark fuel consumption

OK, how much more is a V6 going to cost in fuel compared with a TSpark
over a 250-300 mile week?

My heart says 'buy it', my head says 'that'll cost you an extra 25 quid
/ week in petrol'......

My "normal" consumption is around 23mpg. Just did over 30mpg today on
the M4 run from Slough to Bristol so it does depend on your journeys.

My 2.0GTV did around 30-35 but wasn't *that* much better than the 156 V6
on motorway runs, maybe 3-4 mpg.

On normal use I only get 260 miles out of a tank full with a decent
commuting run, a lot of stop start driving and you will be closer to 20mpg.

The 2.5 V6 is a glorious engine though, but it does rather depend on
your mileage and amount of urban use.

Hope this helps
Tony

Right.

My commute is somewhere between the 2, then.

So I'm probably looking at anything up to a 10mpg penalty for a V6.

That soon adds up and will definitely tip me into the world of paying
for petrol out of my own pocket.
