Default Water in Trunk

We recently had some torrential rains after which I discovered that there
was some water in my trunk. The trunk seal looks pretty good so I don't
think that is the problem. Could it mean that I have a rain rail problem?
As always, any insight is much appreciated.

That, or clogged tubes through which the rain rail drains. Check for wet
carpeting.

What Lanny said plus tail light seals. The water not coming into the trunk
because of the lid seal gets diverted down to the top of the tail light
assembly. Any looseness or seal deterioration there can allow water in.
