I replaced the heater core on my 95 Explorer and it was a lot
of work since I had to take the dash off. However, the 91 - 94
models should be much easier since the design was different.
Go to the library and access auto repair instructions on their
internet connection. This reference info is only available thru
subscribers, such as a public library.

Well, first you need to pop off the panel down by the passenger side (where
the feet go). I think there are about 3-5 screws to remove in addition to
the plastic fasteners. Stick a rag or two under the core. Remove the
clamps on the two hoses in the engine compartment. I use a 3 foot pry bar
to remove the hoses since the old core is trash anyway. As long as you keep
the heater hoses elevated you probably won't even need to drain any coolant
from the radiator. I'd put on some new hoses too unless they are fairly
new.

clueless.

So, you say I need to access the Library.

I have a '91 Ford Explorer Chilton's Manual in the car, shouldn't that be
enough to go with?

Chilton's should be fine for your heater core. It's really not very
difficult or complicated on the '91s. The hardest part is getting the old
hoses off.
