Default E24 instrument binnacle - R&R how?

Look from below. There are two screws above the glass panel. You'll find
screws at the sides under the little filler panels. I THINK there are
also screws holding the bottom to the rail in front (which the steering
column goes into).

It IS possible to do this without dropping the steering column, I've
done it that way myself.
