Monster Sound System?
Has anyone ever put a MONSTER sound system into an XJ? By "monster" I
mean like amp under the back seat with new speakers where ever they can fit. Probably replace exhisting speakers with better performing ones. I was even thinking about mounting a sub woofer inside the spare tire. I love the stock amfm/cd player and would like to keep it. Thoughts? Thanks! |

Yes it has been done. I haven't done it yet. Probably will once I get
it paid off and finish rebuiling my CJ. Instead of putting a sub in the spare tire you might consider something like this: http://www.greensburgautosound.com/p22-23page.htm Info on speaker upgrade: http://www.4x4wire.com/jeep/tech/ele.../xj_speaker01/ |

Thoughts? If your after a high quality system start with scrapping every thing in there including the stock head unit. As for what can fit, that all depends on your budget. Your first best step is to go visit a local car audio store (not walmart/bestbuy, a real store) and ask to see the brag-book. -- -- DougW -- 93 ZJ 4.0 http://members.cox.net/wilsond HESCO Supercharger - 300W IASCA Stereo - Edelbrock IAS Shocks Gibson Exhaust - rear DCpower - custom gauge install - Stillen Rotors Banks Header - and BEER, in the fridge! |

In this group when we talk about MONSTER sound it's the built 360, 304, or
even 258; it's the sound that a locker makes when rounding a turn; it's the flapping of boggers on that rock you're trying to climb; it's the snap of that 35 axle with oversized tires.... -- JimG 80' CJ-7 258 CID, HEI 4.56 Gears, Lock-Right F&R 35" BFG MT on 15x10 Centerlines D44 Rear, D30 Front.
