Default Who says that Corvette is the most iconic American Sportscar?

Anyone knows history knows that the Ford GT is the most iconic
American Sportscar, and it's the ONLY American car that is considered
a true supercar stock.
Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear tested a whole bunch of American cars
and he said that the Ford GTX1 is the best American car ever because
Ford was smart enough to use mostly European Components so it's like a
European car.
Unlike the Corvette, the GT can do 200+ MPH stock, which is one of the
minimum requirements for a car to qualify as a Supercar, something no
stock Corvette has been able to do yet.
By the time a Stock Corvette can do 200 MPH, the minimum requirement
would have moved to 220 MPH or 230 MPH.

Sorry, dozed off right here.

You've secured your spot in the pantheon of Internet douchebags. I
suspect you must be scarred by some incident, perhaps when you told that
pretty girl at school you drove a Vette, and she found out you meant a
Chevette, she laughed at you and made you cry. Or somesuch, because
nothing else could account for being quite as mind****ed as you seem to
be over this car...

First person to get ****canned in the Corvette group... recommending
others do the same...

The Corvette revolutionized the automotive industry in 1953 , and still
does today. It has stood the test of time thru bad economic periods in
our country, it is responsible for very powerful V8 production engines
of the 1960's , virtually every true American associates it with 'Hot
Dogs, Apple Pie , and Chev-ro-let' .... and you just cannot beat the
curvy seductive lines of a C3 nor the powerful stance of the C6 not to
mention its vast technology.

(This has been a non-paid advertisement for the greatest american
sports car which competes with the worlds foremost supercars ; if you
dont care to wrap your fanny in fiberglass, the please exit quietly and
abruptly . Not that way...THIS way out >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Gavin and Beretta Score Sixth GT1 Win of Season in Mid-Ohio ALMS

The GT1 class in the Acura Sports Car Challenge at the Mid-Ohio Sports
Car Course was a tale of two Corvettes. It was the best of times for
Oliver Gavin and Olivier Beretta as they scored their sixth victory in
seven American Le Mans Series races in 2007.
Gavin and Beretta's 28-second victory over their teammates extended
their lead in the GT1 championship to 36 points with five races
remaining. Both Corvettes completed 125 laps around the 2.25-mile
Mid-Ohio circuit, finishing 11th and 12th overall. Beretta extended his
record for ALMS career victories to 34, and Gavin notched his 25th ALMS
win. Read the complete release at: http://www.corvetteracing.com
Corvette Racing's next event is the four-hour Generac 500 at Road
America on Saturday, August 11. NBC Sports will televise the race
tape-delayed at 2:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday, August 12.

REPLY: Your jealousy is showing thru. Further, do any of these
'revolutionary cars' have a National Museum devoted to it with all the
fanfare that the Corvette National Museum does ? ANd do any of them
have National Festivals for that specific car ? Stop trying to
justify not owning a Corvette, and git one ; then you can be our

You're trolling, BUT, I'm not really sure whether I'd pick the Z06 or
the GT as the greatest production car made today (no more GTs, but you
get the point).

Road and Track recently ran a test of the Z06, GT, and Viper against
the F430 F1, 911, and Gallardo. Good read. The F430 may be a great
car, but most of us will only ever be able to read about one. A Z06,
on the other hand, I could put in my garage if I was willing to make
the sacrifices for one.

Jeremy Claskson hates Corvettes. Did you see the episode where he
shoots an '86 Corvette with a helicopter minigun? It is hilarious.

One drove by me in traffic a couple weeks ago. It was one of the most
incredible things I have ever seen, and it was only going 45.
