VW May Not Sell Next Year’s Diesel Models in the US
http://www.wired.com/2015/10/vw-may-...sel-models-us/

This just HAS to be a conspiracy against diesels, there could
be no other possible explanation, at least that's what so many
of the the mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging cretins believe.

Of course. When we go to war, particularly one of those undeclared wars the
Pentagon dearly loves, keeping diesels out of the general public's hands
will be critical.

So long as passenger vehicles primarily use gasoline, the government can
effectively ration fuel by ordering refineries to change their product mix.
So passenger travel can be curtailed without affecting commercial,
agricultural and military operations. And no unpopular emergency orders
would have to be imposed directly on the public.

In terms of road legal, drivable, desired cars, the British built Trident Iceni is the fastest diesel engine car at 190 MPH.
