Default 1998 Ford Explorer - won't start when hot

Have a 98 Ford Explorer with 4.0 SOHC V6 and 102k miles. Recently
experienced trouble starting when the vehicle was hot (still within normal
range). It was suggested that this could be ignition module problem.
Looking at archives seems to suggest this could be the problem. Can't find
any trouble codes with OBDII analyzer but was not able to reproduce the
problem with it connected.

Any similar experience?

When looking at the online parts catalog, I could not find an entry for
"ignition module". I can't find a traditional coil. Is this part and
parcel of the distributer?

Thanks.

Does the truck run with your foot on the gas? If so, could be the IAC
valve.
If not, check the basics. Listen for the fuel pump, check for spark.
