GM Fuel Line-How to Seperate Them?
I have a 1990 Celebrity Wagon that I have to replace the sender and
fule pump in. I dropped the tank and used the special fuel line seperator tool I purchased from AutoZone (its a cheapie). One line came off without much hassle, but the other line is just not happening!! I've been at it for a few days and still nothing! I'm realy at a loss so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks in advance~Norm |

I would come at it using the other hand or from the other direction.

Thanks in advance~Norm You did better than I have - I've never gotten even one free on my Cavalier, either the 'plastic' or metal ones (with the tool, I might add). In the end, I separated them by brute force, using what leverage I could find. (eg - on the filter, I pryed against the filter with a couple of end wrenches.) On the low pressure line, I cut the metal tubing further up, and spliced across the cut with a hose. Forcing them destroys the clip, but these are easily replaced. So far, I haven't damaged anything else. George |
