My mechanic is a skilled technician. Low life grease monkeys are guys like
you who do oil changes in their driveway and pour the oil down the sewer.

Hey! I resemble that remark! And anyway, there are so few of us that
do it that it really doesn't matter. There's way more vulcanized
rubber dust goes down the drain than the occasional gallon of used oil
that *I* put down the storm drain at the front of my driveway.

Let's keep a sense of proportion over this, please!

THREE more WRONG assumtions on your part!
1) I have a SHOP that I work in; in fact I built it instead of a very
small house 'cause I didn't have enough money for both (I choose my cars
over me). I lived in my moving van this summer, & recently built a loft in
my shop in order to stay warm - two sides & the ceiling are insulated with
1/2" foam insulation (the truck had none of course). Had to sell my nice
Cabriolet to do that, though... <crying>
2) I recycle my oil through friends' shops, who send it to recycle
centers. There's no excuse for not taking care of the planet we live on.
3) VERY FEW people could build the cars & do the paintwork I do. I have
30+ years experience as a SKILLED TECHNICIAN. GFY.

You're a moron low life grease monkey who has no interest in BMW's or
probably any fine cars for that matter, and my final "tribute" to you is to
offer you a hearty one-fingered salute and ignore you henceforth.

Dear Sir,

Would you be kind enough to let me tell you that your answer is completely
off topic in this group.
I'm quite sure you will easily understand since you are not a 'moron' .

Looking forward to reading from you,
Faithfully yours

PS: First, in Italian, there is no "h" in Capisce.
Second, I am not Italian, so it is useless for you to try to (badly)
write in this language.

Yeah: I was just soooo shocked that BMW would resort to such a gimmiky
"feature". I guess there are some drivers that need this option, though,
according to the response I got. I'm also sure some of them can afford to
have it repaired, once it sticks in the lower position & renders the
mirror useless. ;-)

It's *too* easy to call *that* guy on just *too many* things.

He still posts here? The kill file is your friend...

Look Dan, this guy is just a troll.
Why is he posting here. He says he doesn't own a BMW and never would. His
big complaint is that the tilting passenger side mirror is a stupid "gimmic"
that is totally useless, and will cost big bucks to fix.
What is the point? Why would someone show up here to complain about 1 BMW
feature? Does it make BMW a lousy manufacturer? Why would anyone that has no
interest in BMW's even care?
Why would you (or I), bother to post to the SAAB ng about some insignificant
feature (like why the ignition is where they decided to put it) if we don't
care for or own one?
I'm just ignoring him from now on.

You're an idiot. I'm not a troll, & I post here fairly often helping folks
out.
I *have* owned BMW's, & only recently traded my E21 for some much-needed
grading. The guy still owes me some work, so I may be getting it back. I'm
also looking at buying another Bimmer too. I came REAL close to buying an 8
series recently, but the guy had just had a sand & shoot paint job done on
it & was asking too much for it in that condition. If he had not had it
painted I would have bought it (I had the cash at the time).
I SURE hope you DO ingnore me; I'm not interested in your ignorant
opinions!
