That is not a problem in my case. I try to pull it on the first row and same
thing happens. One thing I'v noticed that my winch cannot hold the car on steep slopes. I really don't know what it could be the problem. Maybe your brake linkage is seized up in one place. Sort of sounds like

I would be opening it all up to see what is what. If something is
seized, then some good penetrating oil is in order followed buy a good grease job after it is moving again. I think Warn has the manuals online for servicing the winches.
