'93 Accord Cold Start Problem Part II
I need more help! I got some great advice last fall about the cold
start problem I was having but I am still stranded! Previously the problem was narrowed down to a leaking fuel injector. I replaced that one only to discover that two more were leaking. I just replaced those two and the starter and am still having the same problem! Any ideas? 93 Accord 200,000 miles Has new: spark plugs, wires, rotor, dist. cap, coolant temp. sensor, fuel filter, starter and 3 fuel injectors Thanks for any help you can give me! |

Using injector cleaner two or three times a year will keep them spotless. You need to tell us what "the same problem" is. Are you holding the pedal half-way to the floor like the owner's manual says for cold weather, or all the way to the floor like the manual says for flooded engine? 'Curly' |

The problem: When the weather is cold I can only get the car to turn over (and 'jump' periodically). Once it gets going it will restart no problem. Holding the accelerator down, half or all the way, helps make it 'jump' more but not ever fully start. Sometimes it helps to jump it off by getting it to turn over faster. I have had the battery tested twice and came up OK. I was advised to replace the fuel injector since one of my plugs was black and burnt up after a few weeks and heavily smelled of gas. After replacing the first injector the plug has remained pristine. Two other plugs started fouling - that's why we replaced those. I ran a bottle of Techron through prior to the first replacement and noticed no change. I ran another bottle through after the first replacement and noticed no change. I am the third owner of this car, although it has only been for a year and a half. Thanks for all of your input. I'm out of ideas!! |

yah when replacing 1 injector you should change them all..because you see now what happens it gets the others on same rail leaking..so next time if you do 1 do them all on 1 rail or 2 alot of people don't think of changing air filter..that there alone can make it start hard...you might have fuel pump tested also...also use some sea foam in it incase has moister in gas sea foam is good stuff.. -- Scrapper ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Scrapper's Profile: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...?userid=438443 View this thread: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=671255 http://www.automotiveforums.com |

Does anyone have a suggestion (beyond replacing all aftermarket parts
with manufacturer)? |
