Default Reference book or other resources?

Hi all,

I'm working on a fairly interesting project and could use some help in
finding a reference material. Does anybody know of a definitive book or
an online resource of some kind that features an exhaustive list of
engine displacement and configuration (i.e. 350 CID V-8) for as many
cars made as possible back into the misty past?

I've seen a few books that feature that info for a handful of very
collectible cars, but never anything more complete than that.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Chris Hafner

If you have an auto muesum nearby, they should have old Dykes
Automotive Encyclopedias. Big city libraries, too. amny ofht places I
can think of, hcca, CCCA and so on. These are pre-war books. Keep in
mind that there were skads of industrial engines that didn't get into
cars, whereas other did.

I do volunteer work at an auto museum in SoCal and can probably help
you, if you can supply specific needs, info.
