Dodge Intrepid vibration
I have a 1994 Dodge Intrepid with a 3.3L engine. It has a vibration,
sounds like it is coming from the front of the car, It seems to only happen within the first few miles when it is cold and usually at slow to medium speeds usually going up hill. It sounds and feels like you are driving over a rumble strip. I have asked several mechanics and no one seems to know what it is. Please help. The car has 119,000 miles on it. Does anyone know what this is? Has anyone had a similar problem? |

Could be one or both wheel hub bearings going dry. As it starts to go the
grease that may be left in the bearing is warmed up and distributed to all worn contact surfaces. Noise will grow louder as you put on more miles and hub bearing continues to wear/dry out. Similar to standard wheel bearings, but sealed and cannot be serviced (repacked with grease). Hub/bearing design can vary: sealed bearing might be replaceable or it may be a hub/bearing unit which will need to be replaced as a unit. Either way job is about 1.5 to 2 hrs per side. Hope this helps. PS: If it is a CV joint, you should hear clicking noises while making slow turns. "murron" > wrote in message lkaboutautos.com... > I have a 1994 Dodge Intrepid with a 3.3L engine. Thank you for your response. That makes sense. I'll give that a shot.
