Default Soft touch close trunk on a 740iL inoperative

The motor that runs the soft-close on my 740iL is not running, so the
trunk never closes. I have checked the motor, the rotary switch on the
motor, the latch micro switch, the trunk light switches, and the trunk
lock cylinder switches to no avail. Can anyone help me with where to
find the control module for this ? The switches are all OK. This started
with the motor working intermittently..........sometimes, just sitting
there, it would decide to open on it's own. Pretty weird.

I think it has inputs from the alarm system, but those would most likely
be for remote open....seems like if the car wasn't locked, it would be
operated just by a local module.

Any help would be greatly Appreciated.
THanks
JC
