Can't remove parking brake cable from '69 pedal assembly
Somebody help me out here... I'm trying to replace the parking pedal
assembly on my '69 (the old one has pieces missing), and I've got it unbolted from the kick panel area, and also have the two clips that hold the cable in place off... but I can't figure out how to get the cable pulled out enough to disengage it from the little house that the ball on the end of the parking cable sits in! Is there a trick to this? I tried loosening up the other end of the cable down under the car where it ties in with the rear line cables, but it's all rusted and won't adjust out any. It's all adjusted well so if I could just pop that cable out of the pedal assembly and in the other one, I'd be good to go. Easier said than done! Anybody know what I'm talking about? Ron |
