Pulsating Hum from front right wheel - 02 Civic EX
I have an 02 Civic SI-G (EX Model in the states). For the past several
months my front right wheel has been making a slow pulsating hum between 60km-80km, then again and higher pitch at speeds above 100km. The dealer said is was just my summer tires as they were getting low on tread. I put on winters and the sound was still there. Dealer said that it was the winter tires now as they have a more aggressive tread, but i had those taken off on the weekend, and replaced with new summers and the sound is still there and sounds the exact same. I am taking the car into the dealship again, but would like to go in there with some idea of what the problem could be so they dont just keep telling me its my tires. Anyone have any ideas? |

Yeah that is what I am thinking as well, but I kinda thought those
would make more of a constant noise as opposed to a pulsating one? Thanks for your input. |

Not really, stays pretty much constant. The only thing that changes the
tone is speed. Like I said it is audible from about 55km-80km, then louder and a higher tone above 100km. I should probably also mention that the sound does not change at all if I apply the clutch and let the engine drop to idle at those speeds. |

Hmmm... dont think that's it, it's too constant in its rhythm. I think
it definatly has to do with the rotation of the wheel. Car goes in to the shop tomorrow. I'll post the outcome on here when we find out what it is. Thanks for the help. Cheers. |

Dealership said it was a wheel bearing. Part on order, but thought I
would post the outcome on here incase anyone else has the same. |
