Default Question about Chrysler Infinity Radios

I have a '92 Plymouth Grand Voyager and a '94 Chrysler LHS.

Both have the Infinity sound system
The LHS Sounds decent, but the V'ger needs help.

I'm generally pretty good with radios (elec tech 19 years) but I know
nothing about these systems.

The V'ger appears to have 6 speakers, 2 in the dash, 2 in the doors and 2
in the hatch. I don't know if the doors are working. The dash speakers
(most of the time) sound great. The rear deck speakers sound like only the
tweeters are working (?) and are scratchy. Is this a system that has
powered speakers like the Bose/Nissan and the Toyota/Panasonic? Does the
head unit have it's own amp, or a pre-amp only? Can the amps in the
(whatever) be bypassed and an external amp added into the system?

Every once in a while the V'ger system kicks in and it sounds like I have
the band in my van! Most of the time, not ...

Any ideas?

OK. I'll answer my own question! The ground was loose on the back of the
radio, so the speakers weren't grounded properly. Thing sounds great!

The importance of being well grounded...
