'99 ranger - shift issue
Hi there -
My '99 Ranger has a shifting/jerking issue. Shifts are fine and normal except for the follow condition. After you have been driving for awhile and you slow down through a town(55mph down to 30 mph), when you accelerate back up to speed, the truck jerks/hesitates a few times before everything evens out. Seaes like it doesn't really like to downshift to the correct point. If you hit the gas hard, it is not very noticable. It jerks alot if you try to slowly accelerate from 30 to to 60. Transmission fluid looks normal. Engine - 4.0L, automatic, 4x4, Supercab, 135,000 miles. Adjustment issue? Computer issue? Any ideas? Thanks, Randy |

'99 ranger - shift issue
Spark plugs are fine as they were replaced about a year ago. Power is
fine - downshifts are my issue. Might have to learn to drive with a heavier foot as all is well when i do that. Overdrive is probably on its way out, Randy "Captain Coleman" > wrote in message .. . > Spark plugs? > > "Randy Johnson" > wrote in message > ... >> Hi there - >> >> My '99 Ranger has a shifting/jerking issue.
