Dislodging Duckling LLBs
Blocking the passing lane of a 100 km/h zone today was a minivan,
matching the 90 km/h speed of the two cars in front of me. Instead of allowing the Duckling to sit next to him, the second driver in the right lane beside the Duckling turned on his left signal and began moving into the passing lane as if the minivan wasn't there. "Honnnnk, honnk, honnk, honnk!" went the LLB, but the passing driver continued coming closer to the minivan while accelerating to pass the first car in the right lane. What is it they don't get about the passing lane? The left lane is not a "travel" lane, a "fast" lane, a "talk on the phone" lane, a "talk to passengers" lane, a "put on makeup" lane, a "look for something in the back seat" lane, an "adjust entertainment system" lane, or an "eat fast food" lane! It's a passing lane for passing traffic! |

The LLB sped up but remained in the left lane until the divided highway section ended, and then tried a little driving on the wrong side of the road. |

The LLB sped up after the passing driver finished the pass, but remained in the left lane until the divided highway section ended, and then tried a little driving on the wrong side of the road. |
