Default Steve Redman's GTR no-cd patch

Hi folks,

I just tried to "crack" gtr 1.2.1.0 according to Steve Redman's
excellent guide, but it did not work. I did *not* unplug my cdrom
drives, however, because I've heard it's not really necessary.

Can somebody here confirm that the 1.2 version of the guide also works
on a gtr install using the 1.2.1.0 "hotfix" or (hotbreak, rather ;-)?

All the best & TIA,

uwe

I don't know. If I had the patch I would try it.

unless he was addressing you specifically, why would you post an "i don't
know" answer?

Let me guess...you don't know? lol

The patch works with all versions of GTR. You don't have to unplug your
DVD-ROM but it's a good idea if you're using nVidia IDE drivers as the crack
can cause your system to freeze when it exits the game and tries to
re-enable the drive.

Hmm, I followed the instructions step by step, but it doesn't work for
me; GTR will still prompt for the CD. Funny thing though is that one
is told to follow the 1.2 nocd guide first and then return to the
document, and the link points to the same document, so I am wondering
wether I'm missing something in an "older" version of the 1.2 nocd
guide?

All the best,

uwe

I don't know this Steve Redmans guide, but does it use the Star****er
utility? If yes, then it works fine here

Yep, it does use the star****er utility and daemon tools. I wonder
what I am missing here.

cheers,
