Auto M?
Got one of these so I'd have a CD player. http://www.madracki.com/miata/modradio.html Can anyone tell me for sure what the "Auto M" button does and how to use it? Everything else is now working very nicely but... what in heck does that button do? |

I'm thinking it's Auto Memory. You may have to hold it down a minute (till
it beeps) or you may just have to touch it, not sure but I believe it scans the range and selects the stations with the best signal strength and loads you presets. What do I win? I figured as much...... ;-) Hope that was it, Chris 99BBB "XS11E" > wrote in message ... > > Got one of these so I'd have a CD player. > > http://www.madracki.com/miata/modradio.html > > Can anyone tell me for sure what the "Auto M" button does and how to > use it? > > Everything else is now working very nicely but... what in heck does > that button do? |

The reason I couldn't get it to work is, as you suggested, you have to hold it down for awhile... maybe 5 seconds or so. Then it does scan the stations with the strongest signals and appears to store them in some kind of temporary memory, it doesn't change the presets as far as I can tell. So, out on the road and away from my preset stations I press and hold the Auto Memory and it scans the band from lowest to highest and stops with the strongest station playing and the word "auto" displayed. If I touch the Auto M again, it goes to the next, touch it again and it goes to the next, etc. IF I touch a preset it turns off the Auto Memory, loses all the Auto Memory stations and goes to the preset that I pressed which is still set to where it was originally, I have to press and hold Auto M again to get it to scan again. It's probably very nice for cross country driving, I can find all the strong stations w/o losing my presets for when I get back home. You win a 3,000 page bound volume of Leo's "Discourse on Photon Drag and Why White Miatas are Faster" so watch your mailbox... ;-) |

Auto M?
you figured it out?!?! i told you about that feature in your last thread
about this radio... it is great to use when traveling long distances so that you can quickly populate the station pre-sets with the areas strongest stations but it blows away your own presets so they make you hold it to prevent accidentally doing so... Pay particular attention to the section on temperature-gradient driven diffraction, (pp 1732-1869), which turns a black car into an effective black hole as far as photons are concerned. well..........if there's that many pages.................I may pass on the
de-bunking and go straight to the slanderous remarks and non-sensical rants (much less time involved;-) Chris 99BBB "Leon van Dommelen" > wrote in message ... > "Chris D'Agnolo" > wrote: > >>You have access to that?! It does store it, see above. PS, I have the same button on my Ford, it works completely differently. |
