Default 2003 Ford Ranger problem

I just bought a 2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 with 13,000 miles on it. It has a
standard 5 speed transmission. When I shift from first into second
gear, I hear a clunk when I let the clutch out in second. Kind of
sounds like slack is being taken up in the drive train. I was wondering
if this is normal or any other ideas as to the cause of this. Thanks in
advance. Please post or e-mail me your replies.........Rich
