Default mga spoke wheels

Iam going to replace the spoke wheels on my 61 mga and I read that you
should upgrade to 72 spoke insead of 48 (the original) any ideas?

You probably heard that from someone thats selling 72 spoke wheels.
The MGA is a relatively light car with not much power, and the
48 spoke wheels are really well matched to the suspension.
You'll find the 72 spoke wheels are far stiffer and handling will
suffer. If you really have the need to "upgrade", go with the 60 spoke
wheels.
