2002 PTC Emergency Brake Light flashes on Acceleration
I have noticed in about the last 30 days that occasionally my emergency
brake light will flash on, and the bell will sound on harder than usual acceleration. This is not the ABS light. I intend to take it in for the Saftey Recall Notice soon, and wonder if there is something else I should have them check for me. Any ideas what may cause this? TIA - Lee Gillie, Spokane WA |

Top off the master cylinder, and have the brakes checked for wear

That means your brake fluid is low. Either it's leaking, or your brake pads have worn down and the fluid's taking that space up, which will lower the fluid level in the master cylinder and trigger that light. You can add some fluid to make the light go away, but you really should get it looked at to see what the underlying problem really is. -- Garner R. Miller Clifton Park, NY =USA= |

Thanks to all for replies.
Fluid was not to ADD MARK, but is definitely below half way. Will have the dealer check my brakes while in for service. Best Regards - Lee |
