Default Best Way to Clean Engine

I've posted a couple messages before to these groups... but here's
another one.

After a couple months of weekend work, and gathering the necessary
funds and parts... i'm finally ready to put the family van back on the
road.

1990 Dodge Caravan 3.3L Engine
(Blew a couple rocker arms, so replaced the heads, gaskets etc)

After tearing the engine down... I noticed alot of carbon deposits and
carbon and dirt and such inside the engine. I've gotten most of it
out of the upper end around the cam and lifters and such. This
weekend i'll be pulling the lifters and cleaning out the bores and
inspecting and such before putting everything back together.

I've thought about doing an engine flush... but what is going to be
the best and most cost-effective solution to cleaning the engine.

Thanks in advance
