BP Ultimate or Shell V-power or just Regular diesel?
Hi,
I was wondering if any of you have experience with either BP/Aral Ultimate diesel or Shell V-Power? Without getting into the emission aspect of things I'm just curious if changing to the mentioned fuel will make my car run better, smoother etc. Since test are not conclusive I value the opinion of other Alfa drivers more. Any input is welcome. I just changed to V-power and feel that idling improved and better throttle responce Experiences?? -- VMax 164 2.0 TS(till 2000), 146 1.9 JTD (2000-2003), 147 JTD, Eibach lowered, K&N, Ragazon exhaust and Chip-tuned (149 BHP-365Nm) ------------------------------------------------------------ |

My little brother using BP Ultimate in his Ford Transit last week.
Only difference was the hole it left in his pocket |

I tried a tank full Optimax in my 156 2L TS - engine performed worse (lack
of power, compared to normal fuel), and no improvement in mpg. I think these higher octane fuels are only beneficial to turbo/supercharged engines, or those specifically designed for it (higher cylinder pressures).
